Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the RainBeat Esports iPhone app (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles, why, and what choices you have. If you have a question, write to hi@rainbeat.cc.
In short
- You don’t need an account, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number inside the app.
- Your selected games, followed teams and reminders are stored only on your device.
- The app has no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools, and we don’t sell or share personal information.
Information stored on your device
To work, the app keeps the following on your iPhone: the games you selected, the teams you follow, your reminder settings and the matches you saved, your language choice, and a temporary copy of recently loaded schedules so they still show without a connection. This information doesn’t leave your device. You can erase it with Settings → Reset in the app, or by deleting the app.
Information our server receives
Match schedules, results and team lists come from our own server, which gets the data from an esports data provider (PandaScore). When the app loads a screen, it requests the data for the games, teams or dates you are viewing. These requests aren’t linked to a name or account.
Like every web server, ours sees the IP address of the device making a request. We use it only in short-term memory to block excessive traffic, and it is discarded within about 10 minutes. Our technical logs record which address of the service was called, the result and how long it took. They don’t record IP addresses.
Our server is run on Railway, a cloud hosting provider that processes this traffic on our behalf.
Team logos
Team logos are loaded directly from PandaScore’s image servers. When an image loads, those servers receive your IP address and standard technical details, such as the device type, as with any image on the internet. PandaScore’s own privacy policy applies to that processing.
Reminders and calendar
Match reminders are local notifications scheduled by iOS on your device. We don’t operate a push notification service, and no notification token is sent to us. When you add a match to your calendar, the app creates a calendar file on your device and you decide where to share it.
What we don’t collect
The app doesn’t access your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or health data, and it doesn’t use Apple’s advertising identifier.
Emails to support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to answer you and delete the conversation within 12 months after it is resolved.
Your choices and rights
Because the app doesn’t hold personal profiles about you, the easiest way to control your information is to reset or delete the app. You can also ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, by writing to hi@rainbeat.cc. We handle requests in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. If you aren’t satisfied with our answer, you can contact the privacy regulator in your country: the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Where information is processed
Our hosting and data providers may process requests on servers outside your country. We only work with providers that protect the information they process for us.
Children
The app isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
All connections between the app and our server are encrypted with HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we keep the information we handle to a minimum.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
